House-gallery by the sea in the Anse de Malmousque, Marseille
The space on offer is a renowned contemporary art gallery in Marseille. It is a Provençal dwelling located in the highly sought-after Malmousque neighborhood, by the sea, renovated in 2021 by the architecture firm Marion Bernard Architecte. The space is in direct proximity to the Port of Malmousque, the Vallon des Auffes and the Anse de Maldormée. It attracts an international audience of contemporary art, design and fashion enthusiasts year-round. The sea, visible from the upper floor, is reachable within a five-minute walk.
The space is divided into two interconnected parts: a main area of about 60 m² with white walls, featuring a brutalist staircase, and a veranda whose windows overlook lush southern vegetation. A leafy patio is also accessible, as well as restrooms and a small bathroom.
Apart from privatizations, the space hosts a contemporary art and design venue as well as an associative curatorial platform that promotes international cultural exchanges. In this regard, a permanent piece of furniture cannot be filmed without the artist's prior authorization.
